With Michael Jackson's posthumous "Michael" album coming out Dec. 14, rapper 50 Cent sat down for an interview posted recently on michaeljackson.com to discuss working with the King of Pop on the record. The rapper appears on the track "Monster," which he describes as "the 2010 version of 'Thriller.'"
The collaboration started when Jackson reached out to G-Unit's DJ Whoo Kid about 50 working on "Monster," which he thought would be perfect for the "In Da Club" rapper. Discussing the conversation the two had, 50 Cent admitted to being nervous before speaking to Jackson, given the singer's influence and legacy.
After Jackson's untimely death, 50 was called to the studio to finish the track, which MJ had intended for the two to make with Blackstreet producer Teddy Riley.
50 Cent made it clear that the track will introduce fans to a different side to him. "I made adjustments to my cadence so I don't sound like I do on other music that people have previously heard from me," he says in the video
