Singer Chris Brown appeared before a judge in Washington, DC today to answer to a felony assault charge stemming from a weekend fight. His arraignment was delayed almost an entire day, but it's now complete.
Singer Chris Brown was joined by Trey Songz and numerous family members in D.C. Superior Court today where he faced felony assault charges stemming from a nightclub brawl near his tour bus this weekend.
Jennifer Donelan of ABC7 reported that authorities reduced Chris' charge to a misdemeanor assault and released him on his own recognizance earlier this evening. The "Fine China" crooner is due back in court in November to face the reduced charge.
TMZ reported that the charges were reduced because the injuries to the victim were minor and there were conflicting witness accounts of what happened. His bodyguard's charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor.
Though he's a free man, Chris faces a tough rough ahead as TMZ also reported that the LA County Probation Dept has launched an investigation into whether this latest run-in violates his probation stemming from the Rihanna assault case.
For now, neither Chris nor his lawyer, Mark Geragos, have released statements
